Social media. I love it. I sing it’s praises through the rooftop nearly everyday. It’s dramatically altered my personal and professional life, in a very positive way. I’ve never met so many brillant, amazing and caring people than I have on Twitter.
In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I wanted to recognize some of the most brilliant, amazing and kind Twitterers that I’ve had the pleasure of coming across. This list is by no means extensive. But these ten people deserve a ton of recognition. They do amazing work day and day out, and really understand how to use Twitter in the most effective and powerful way.
Every time I chat with Jason, I walk away beyond impressed by his deep knowledge and passion for public relations and social media. His willingness to offer great advice and tips to young pros like myself is unparalleled. His tips and insights are always spot on. You can count on him to share great PR and social media articles and blog posts in his tweets.
What can I say, I’ve had the pleasure to chat with Stephanie online for quite some time, and most recently in person after attending a conference in Savannah. She continues to impress me day in and day out with her deep knowledge and understanding of the ins and outs of social media. Her ongoing video blog series, Tweetheart TV, is creative, informative and an overall must-watch.
I had the pleasure of “meeting” Jenn through the #u3opro community early this year. She continually to wows me day in and day out. I have no idea how she does everything that she does. In addition to a day-job as a community manager, she runs three widely successful Twitter chats, including the epic #cmgrchat, as well as a start-up called, Eat Your Serial.
Adam is beyond knowledgeable about the public relations and communications industries. He moderates a weekly communication Twitter chat every Monday at 3 p.m. EST, called #commschat. It’s an amazing resource to network and learn from talented pros from all around the world. His blog, The Comms Corner, is also a fantastic resource.
Like many other Generation Y bloggers, I had the pleasure of starting to chat with Matt through the #u30pro community. Matt’s doing great things with his new start-up, Proof Branding. In addition, this old-school Nickelodean fan also writes fantastic posts over on his personal award-winning blog, Life Without Pants.
I would characterize Matt as an upcoming PR and marketing extraordinaire, who continues to wow me with his insightful and often witty tweets and blog posts. It makes sense that I learn a ton from him every time we chat, given he teaches marketing and PR to middle school students. While I may not share his super fandom for the Iowa Hawkeyes, he is a definitely a must-follow.
I have continued to be impressed by Aurora’s deep knowledge of public relations and social media as well as her great workplace advice. Every time I chat with her, I always leave energized with new ideas. She’s also another rising star that utilizing Twitter in an impressive way.
This social media rockstar was one of a couple of people, who introduced me to the rocking #socialfresh community. Summer is incredibly knowledgeable about social media marketing, and is always coming up with innovative ways to use it. Her innovative ideas have been showcased on the Social Fresh website and Mashable among others.
Steph is another person, who I was fortunate to “meet” in the #u30pro community. I’ve gotten to know her first as a college student and job seeker and now a new PR professional. I’m constantly impressed by how much passion and ambition she has for the public relations industry. I expect she will do great things in the near future.
Hal’s immense knowledge about social media, graphic design and writing is immediately noticeable. His tweets and blog posts always offer a unique and informative perspective on the latest social media tools and trends. His claim to fame is how he used a single tweet to land his current job at BFG Communications.
